Android M To Feature Native Fingerprint Authentication

Android M

The current version of Google’s mobile OS is called Android Lollipop, the next version is called Android M and Google are expected to unveil it at their Google IO developer conference next week.

Now according to a recent report, Android M will come with fingerprint authentication built into the OS.

This could be an interesting new feature for Google’s Android OS, as none of the companies current devices come with fingerprint sensors.

Google are expected to release a preview of Android M at their IO conference next week, which could mean one of two things.

Either the fingerprint feature will not work until Google releases a new Nexus smartphone later in the year with a fingerprint sensor, or the company will launch a new smartphone at their event next week.

As yet we do not know the exact name Google will be giving to Android M, we previously mentioned that Android Marshmallow sounds like a good bet, I guess we will find out more details next week.
